1. Introduction

Repleasy ("we", "our", or "us") operates the website repleasy.app and the Repleasy Chrome extension (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service. Please read it carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the Service.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

2.1 Account Information

When you register, we collect your name and email address through our authentication provider (Clerk). You may also sign in via Google or other OAuth providers, in which case we receive the profile information you authorise that provider to share.

2.2 Usage Data

We record the number of AI replies you generate each day and over your lifetime to enforce plan limits and display your usage statistics on the dashboard. This data is stored in your account metadata on our authentication provider's servers.

2.3 Extension Settings

Settings you configure in the Chrome extension (tone, reply length, language preference, etc.) are stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. They are not transmitted to our servers.

2.4 API Keys

If you choose to use your own API keys (BYOK), those keys are stored exclusively in your browser's local storage. They are never transmitted to or stored on Repleasy servers — they are sent directly from your browser to the respective AI provider (OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, or DeepSeek).

2.5 Payment Information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or full payment details. We receive a subscription status and plan identifier from Stripe.

2.6 Log & Technical Data

Our servers and hosting provider (Vercel) automatically collect standard server log data including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is used for security, debugging, and analytics.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Provide, operate, and improve the Service
  • Enforce plan usage limits
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Send transactional emails (e.g. receipts, account notifications)
  • Respond to customer support requests
  • Detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive activity
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data to train AI models.

4. AI-Generated Content

When you use Repleasy's hosted AI feature, the YouTube comment text and your settings (tone, length, language) are sent to our server and forwarded to the relevant AI provider (currently DeepSeek for free users). The AI provider processes this data in accordance with their own privacy policy. We do not permanently store the content of comments or generated replies on our servers.

When you use your own API key (BYOK mode), your data goes directly from your browser to the AI provider and never touches Repleasy servers.

5. Sharing of Information

We may share your information with:

  • Clerk - authentication and user management
  • Stripe - payment processing and subscription management
  • Vercel - hosting and infrastructure
  • AI Providers (DeepSeek, OpenAI, Google, Anthropic) - solely to process AI generation requests on your behalf
  • Law enforcement or regulatory authorities - when required by law or to protect our legal rights

All third-party service providers are contractually bound to use your data only for the purpose of providing their services to us.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Usage counters and history are retained in your account metadata. If you delete your account, your personal data is deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. financial records).

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate personal data
  • Request deletion of your personal data
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data
  • Data portability
  • Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete that information.

10. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our service providers operate. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any international transfers in accordance with applicable data protection law.
